Daisy Day's tomorrow - come see me!

Come by my booth and choose a one of a kind Mother's Day gift. Don't worry about the weather my booth is inside the gym - center of back wall. Look for my banner. Hope to see you at St. Catherine's ( 6001 Grove Avenue) tomorrow.

We did this one together!

Nancy did the torchwork for the center, then I "framed it" in the same turquoise glass, fused it flat and finally slumped it...and after 3 days in the kiln have this pretty plate.

On the left is how it looked going into the kiln and the right is a closeup of the center of the finished plate.

April Shows

April is going to be a busy month- we will be particapating in two juried shows. First we will be returning to St. Catherine's Daisy Day's here in Richmond. Our second show is the Hot Glass Festival at Sunspots Studio in beautiful Staunton, VA.

Pretty Baubles

It is hard to get a good picture of dichroic glass on a cloudy day like today.

Two new trays

I have not been very diligent about posting lately. We have had a busy show schedule and then Nancy had ankle surgery. I did my first solo shows and I have to tell you I was nervous but they went well. When we set up we each have tasks that we always do and I take for granted that I don't need to be concerned about anything else. Well,I do miss Nancy's touch when it comes to setting up our displays but thanks to cell phones I can (and do) call for emergency advice.
So far this week I have two new plates (which come with spreaders) and cooling in the kiln are two candle trays. I have a tray of goodies waiting to go in the kiln but that's a secret for now!

Kitties for next Halloween

Now I just have to decide if they are going to be pins or pendants. For now they are keeping me company on my work table.

Under the Sea Wind Chime, Forecast Snow!

It has been a while since I posted, so I'll show you a couple of pictures. Nancy made this windchime - it was comissioned by one of our friends who will be giving it as a gift. Isn't it pretty? I wish the picture did a better job of showing the sand at the bottom of the sea.
Here is a picture of the show at St. James a couple of weeks ago. The spot was short so I tried a new arrangement with the tables. It worked and people came into the space. Snow!!! This is not a very good picture and I have not yet put on bails and/or pinbacks.
